Nuclear Power in the US (1993 data)

The electricity itself isn't nuclear

As of 1993, there were 421 commercial nuclear power units in the world, including 110 in the US.

During the year, the world's nukes generated 2135 billion kWh, including 641 billion kWh in the US.

US therefore has 26% of the nukes and generates 30% of the world's nuclear electricity.

Whoa!  There's nothing nuclear about the electricity itself!!!  (Unfortunate fact!  Some years ago, I wrote a preliminary exam to find out what my incoming students knew.  Two-thirds of them thought that electricity from nuclear plants is radioactive.)
