Electrical Energy & Power

The power line does not deliver electrons Common misconception:  a battery --- or the power line --- delivers electrical charge to the user.

In fact, electrical charges (electrons) are already present in all matter.  The battery --- or the electrical generator at the power plant --- supplies energy  to the electrons.  There are neither more nor fewer electrons in your light bulb when the power is on than when it is off.

The rate of energy usage is power .
